FAQs

Colon hydrotherapy introduces water into the large bowel to encourage evacuation of bowel contents. It should be viewed as a complementary wellness service rather than a treatment for disease or a method of detoxification.

What does colon hydrotherapy actually do?

1

An enema generally introduces a small amount of fluid into the lower part of the bowel and is usually used for a short period of time. Colon hydrotherapy uses water introduced through the rectum during a longer session to flush the large bowel.

What is the difference between colon hydrotherapy and an enema?

Who may choose colon hydrotherapy?

3

Some women choose colon hydrotherapy because they feel uncomfortable, bloated or sluggish, or simply want additional digestive support. It is not a treatment or cure for digestive disease, and persistent or unexplained symptoms should always be medically investigated.

What can I expect from my session?

4

You’ll be guided through the process before your treatment begins and given plenty of privacy. Water is introduced gently and your practitioner remains available throughout the session to make sure you feel comfortable and supported.

How will I feel afterwards?

5

Everyone responds differently. Some people feel comfortable and able to continue with their normal day, while others may experience temporary bloating, cramping or changes in bowel movements. Staying well hydrated afterwards is important

You should not expect significant pain. Some people may experience temporary fullness, mild cramping or an urge to open their bowels during the session. Let your practitioner know immediately if you feel uncomfortable.

Will it hurt?

How many session’s do I need?

7

There is no standard number of treatments. Rebecca will discuss your health history, symptoms and goals with you rather than recommending a one-size-fits-all program.

Do you use disposable equipment?

8

Yes. Single use disposable equipment is used for each client as part of the clinic's hygiene and infection-control procedures.

Can I have colon hydrotherapy while pregnant?

9

Pregnancy should always be discussed with Rebecca before booking. Depending on your stage of pregnancy and medical history, treatment may not be appropriate and medical clearance may be required.
